The cover is perfect for our air conditioner. We wanted to keep debris out, and have some degree of protection for the unit. We just measured the dimensions of our unit and ordered the size that would work (it needs to be a little larger than the top of your unit). The material is sturdy, and everything needed for installation was included--easy to read instructions, the cover, and bungee cords. With that said, it's pretty simple to put on and attach with the bungee cords. It is staying on with windy weather, and protecting from snow, leaves, etc. The top covers and goes over the sides a bit, thus protecting the unit but not smothering it. Therefore moisture will not build up inside and rust the components (a potential problem if you encase the top and sides).
